Ponta da Piedade is possibly one of the most beautiful natural scenery of the Algarve coast. Here the coast is formed by dense corroded cliffs, which have been carved in rocky pillars, natural tunnels, and hidden caves. These irregularly deformed sandstone cliffs stand in stark contrast to the peaceful turquoise and green deep waters, because of that the whole region is simply breathtaking.
To observe the cliffs from the sea, the visitors can take part in the organized excursions by Catamaran and later with our Double Kayaks, which navigate through the labyrinth of these unique formations in an ecologic way.
Situated prominently on the promontory of Ponta da Piedade is a traditional lighthouse, which has been watching international expeditions from the dangerous rocks since its construction and you can go with us on the Lagos Adventure Kayak tour, it’s an excellent excursion in Ponta da Piedade with 2 Hours and a half, from Marina de Lagos, exploring the cliffs, you can enjoy a magnificent experience.
It is with great respect and a dose of magic that we share the wonderful coast where we were born and lived. We will do this through a trip, initially by boat to save all our energy to the point where we descend with the kayaks. Why kayaks? The answer is simple! This means of transport, in addition to not polluting, also allows us a stunning view of the coast, almost as if we were part of it. As we explore, we return to the past by sharing stories, many of them funny.

We recommend you to wear your favourit swim-wear and bring your own wetsuit and water shoes if you are a water sport pro.
During summer we recommend you to wear your preferred swim-wear and bring lots of sun block.
During the winter we recommend you to wear your preferred swim wear under a thermal top and thermal leggings which you can put a wetsuit over to stay warmer if needed. We recommend you are wearing these swim-wear and under layers underneath normal clothing on pick-up. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Kayak tours operate at:
– 15th Febrary till 31st March – 12pm
– 1st April till 31st Mai – 10H30am and 2pm
– 1st June til 15th September – 9H30am, 13pm, 4pm
– 16th September till 31st October – 10H30am and 2pm
– 1st November till 31st December – 12pm
– Me and Ricardo welcome you at the Gate ABCD in Marina de Lagos, in front of Pizza Hut restaurant.
– We wear a Bright Yellow/Green T-Shirt, very easy to identify us.
– Please arrive 15 minutes at the meeting point before the tour.
– Just in case you come by car, there is a free parking on the back of the building of Marina de Lagos, near the train station. – There are lots of parking places there.

NO ! – Half of the people we take Kayaking have never Kayaked before and the other half of the people we take kayaking have only kayaked a few times.
No !! We do not provide neoprene wetsuits or neoprene wet-shoes to keep you warm in winter. In sumer wetsuits and water-shoes are not required.
YES !! It is ok if you cannot swim. Every person we take on the water is supplied a personal flotation device which helps to keep you afloat should you fall in the water. Our guides are trained at assisting you back onto your kayak so help is usually easily on hand. You are required to notify your guide prior to entering the water if you cannot swim.
At kayak Lagos Adventure we are not sending you flying over waterfalls in rafts or towing you behind boats at 40km/hr. We are very lucky that in Ponta da Piedade- Lagos the waters are very calm and clear. However as with any water-based and transportation activities there are inherent and assumed risks. We have a comprehensive and safe operational plan, a vehicle and driver policy and a navigation safety license to operate and we are always striving to minimize risks during our activities.
NO !! The Tours operate all year round. Customers in winter love our tours just the same as customers in summer !!
The minimum age for Kayak tours is 5 years old. Any person under 17 years old most be accompanied by a responsible adult. We advise families with young children to choose our first kayak tour of the day, instead of the others Tours.
While greater levels of fitness generally help in all aspects of life, you do not need to be any kind of athlete to take part in our tours, kayaking on the Ponta da Piedade Coastline is generally a relaxing more leisure type activity.
Most Ponta da Piedade tours are on the water for about 1 or 1.15 hours. It is about as much as most people would like to be on the water. If you want to be on the water for a longer time, then consider hiring us with a private Kayak Tour.
We generally return to the Marina de Lagos approximately 2.5 hours following the scheduled tour time. Of course traffic and other factors can come into play.
– Our kayaks allow easy entry to shallow and narrow waterways that would be inaccessible to larger motorized vessels.
– Silence is golden. Without a large motor disturbing the natural setting, we are able to quietly view the wildlife and landscape as it is naturally without having to bait the waters to generate any excitement.
– Education. Our guides have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the history, geology, zoology, and current environmental issues regarding our Coast
– Our Meeting Point is in Marina de Lagos and we start the Tour in a Catamaran with all the equipment on board. The position of the Boat is B11 on the ABCD Gate.

We do our best to make our tours as inclusive as possible. As long as you are comfortable trying…so are we.
As long as you carry your trash away with you it is fine to bring a light snack on both Boat and Kayak. We recommend saving your appetite for the city, we have plenty of places to recommend. We have Water on the boats.
Yes, it is appropriate to tip the tour guides. Tips will have to be in the form of cash. We will not be able to charge a credit card for a tip. If your guide really works hard and you think he gave a great tour, let him know how much you appreciate it!

Humberto and the crew did a wonderful job from start to finish. The meeting point was super easy. The amount of people on board was smaller than the larger boats. Plenty of room to sit and move around to get great views. The crew was super friendly, our guide in the water was Ricardo, and he gave great information throughout our kayak tour along the coast near Lagos. The best part though, there was plenty of time to kayak, swim, etc. and we didn’t have to paddle back to the harbor like other kayak operators.
We had a great experience on this tour! The guys were very nice and thoughtful, as we were the only English speaking people on our tour, they kindly explained all the sights and caves in both English and Portuguese. At the end we got a recommendation for lunch and it was perfect. Thank you very much for this amazing experience!
Super tour en kayak des grottes de la côte de Lagos. Activité très plaisante et pas fatigante (contrairement à ce que nous pensions), accessible à tous. Nous avons apprécié la bonne humeur de l’équipage (Humberto et les 2 Ricardo), les explications étaient claires et amusantes. Nous sommes passés par de magnifiques grottes accessibles parfois uniquement en kayak, et nous avons même eu la chance de voir des dauphins sur le retour en bateau. Je recommande !!! We had the best time on this experience! Everything was great and Humberto and Ricardo were amazing hosts. Hands down the easiest/ fluid kayak adventure we've had. Our group decided to watch dolphins instead of swimming which is what we would of chose anyways and that made the trip more magical! Also, Ricardo was the prefect guide to lead us into the caves and made us laugh during the whole trip. Book this experience now, don't hesitate! Obrigada!!
This was a super fun kayaking experience! The weather was super hot but kayaking on the water made a huge difference. Humberto’s team was awesome! We paddled though different caves and the scenery was just amazing. The wind and the current was pretty mild. Not very hard to kayak around. This is the highlight of my visit in Lagos!
Excelente experiencia. Tal y como se explica en el anuncio. El trato es amable y divertido. Los tres tripulantes han estado atentos y buscando siempre la broma para distender el ambiente. Se aprecia que hablen en inglés y en español (portuñol según ellos, pero lo hablan genial). Además, he ido solo y me han preparado un kayak para mí porque ya tenía experiencia. Un detalle la botella de agua al final en el momento del baño libre. ¡Una tarde superdivertida!
This tour was the biggest highlight of our travels so far. I can’t recommend doing this experience enough. The location where you kayak is enough to give five stars but the crew make it even better. They’re friendly and hilarious, they treated us like friends not tourists. Humberto was welcoming and funny, as was Riccardo number 1 & Riccardo number 2. The music on board made for the perfect vibe. Wish we could do this again!
I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience! The staff was super fun, friendly and knowledgeable. The guide was super fun as well and did not rush at all. We felt safe the whole time. In the end, we chilled for a while on the ocean so folks could jump into the water if they liked. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you everyone!
This Kayak adventure is an amazing experience when you are in Lagos! It was such a beautiful trip with magical views on the best caves and grottes. The whole team was so funny and friendly, they explained everything perfectly so we felt very well and safe! I heartily recommend this tour to everyone who comes to Lagos.
Humberto and the two Ricardo's were fantastic hosts. The kayaking was a magical experience visiting caves and beaches really only accessible via kayak or boat. There were three of us and I was the only sole kayaker and Ricardo always made sure I was okay. Getting to swim around the boat at the end was a fantastic end to an utterly breathtaking experience. Had such a great time and the hosts were fantastic - personable and very knowledgeable of the area! We ended up seeing a lot more than I thought we would - almost the entire coastline! but with such ease and without tiring. I would definitely choose this kayaking experience to see the grottos over a boat tour!
The Lagos Adventure hosts were super warm and humorous. It was easy to find the meeting point and the process was seamless. We were out in the water and kayaking in no time. The guide was knowledgeable, interactive, and always watching out for our safety. I had a magical time and made some new friends.
My wife and had been on this same tour in 2019 and were happy to book with Humberto a second time. Humberto is a friendly guy and although he wants you to have a good experience his first concern is always your safety. There were three of a crew, Humberto and two Ricardos which made remembering names a doddle. During the short trip out to where the kayaking begins one of the Ricardos gave us lots of information about the sights and the local history. Once we were in our kayaks and paddling around the caves etc we had a great time and were constantly getting information from Ricardo about the caves and how they got their names. After returning to the boat we were able to swim in the crystal clear waters or lounge up front on the boat in the glorious sunshine. I have no hesitation in recommending this experience and will do it again if we return to Lagos in the future.
This is a fantastic guided kayak tour of the sea caves near Lagos. It was such a treat to be able to go inside and hear little stories about each. We had perfectly calm waters and a warm day, the conditions were great. We went at a leisurely pace, which we appreciated. All of the guides were friendly and helpful. Make sure you read the location directions carefully. We did not and got a bit lost. We highly recommend this tour!
